Smooth idle/ slight miss in higher rpms

Here's the story,
A while back I tore the motor down and fixed some things. Was going to bench the pump but ended up not so I put it back on. Timed it via the timing pin and tdc pin. On first start up it ran fine but missed badly while revving. Bumped timing and it seemed to help out quite a bit. It has a new fass 125 and freshly popped injectors.
Can it be that when I set timing the first time it was much lower than stock? The second time I timed it I used the kit and bumped it 7 degrees. I thought that would be 19.5 degrees at that point. Any other suggestions would be much appreciated.
It's got the 160 pump also.

Does it sound like a machine gun out the tail pipe? My old 95 sounded like that come to find out 3 injectors didn't match the other 3.

It sounds exactly like it needs more timing, how does it run under a load.
