Being that I already have the 400 I am assuming that my current valve springs are the heavier version.

So if you are limited to factory tag rpm why are you trying to get it to run 3500rpm?

Those are the rules if I want to pull for points. There are other pulls that are for fun or cash payout that those rules don't apply. Like next Fri is a local fireman's pincic and our county Fair is labor day weekend. No speed or rpm limit at either one.

Hopefully I have something together for next friday. Pull is just a couple miles away and I want to put on a good show. Any tips on building a hitch? Not sure there are any secrets to help transfer weight.

This is what happens when you have too many spare parts and want to get in way over your head.

I was at a pull last night and noticed when one of the semis backed into the sled that his whole rear axle was off the ground. Almost like the rear axle was strapped up against the stops and the front bags had air in them.

I’m gonna guess this had to do with weight transfer, but can anyone elaborate?

Pretty common to pin the rear axle solid and overcharge the front. But odd that they overcharge the front before the chain is hooked.

Yup, looked exactly like that. I figure more of them than I know do this, but I happened to be standing beside the sled and this is the first I’ve noticed like that.

How is Peterbilt air Trac for on the track? Found a reasonable priced cuttoff with full lockers thinking about buying up. Have spring ride at the moment that's beyond just a bushing job. Think it should do pretty good with the lower torque arms to help control the axles.

Not terrible. But will still wrap the axle. Neway or 8 bag seem to take abuse the best. At least that ive seen

Sour. Ive yet to ride in an 8 bag that i thought rode good though. But I like that the 8 bag, neway, and I think primmax dont have hopping or axle wrap issues. They dont torque rise lime air trac does either

Well made some adjustments to the pump. Currently at 450psi and starts to cut fuel right at 3k rpm. Still have the ht3 on and boost seems low to me. Hardly any smoke so I don't think I have any boost leaks. Gauge really flutters and is saying only 28psi? Hopefully going to get a chance to pull this friday night and see how it does before making any more changes. That will give me a base line for what more I am going to need to surprise some people at our local fair- only a month away!

Well the truck performed better than I thought it was going to. I was the test pull and went 287ft which is last place by 20ft. First place pulled 338ft. I will have to do some checking on what happened to my fuel pressure. After some changing in the pump I had 450psi at close to 3k rpm. I installed another 5/16 hard line to the front head and when I took it for a test drive it had dropped to 350psi. I guess I just took it that one fuel line was causing so much restriction that by adding the second it increased flow to the point the pump could only generate the 350psi. Well driving to the pull I got on it a few times and I couldn't even get the 350psi anymore. During the pull I was trying to keep an eye on the gauge and it was just that I got it over 300psi and rpms never got as high as I wanted either. I will have to double check the gauge tomorrow but I never spun a tire and the sled read out said 18.5mph truck has 4.44 rears and a 13sp. I pull in the high gear on the low side of the trans. Had video taken so when I get it uploaded I will post here. Now off to changing my fuel filter to see if I can find some of my lost fuel pressure.
