THIS CAR US NOT IN DRIVING CONDITION!!!!
2005.5 Campanella White Jetta 4 Dr 5spd with BEW engine.
Car is/was my beater, and it is beat.
It does move under its own power. It has a Cam position sensor implausible code that I haven't been able (or unwilling) to resolve, and recently developed an issue with the MAF sensor or the 5V supply. I cut the MAF wiring and installed a POT (common power mod) and that didn't resolve the MAF code. I don't have enough interest to persue it.
The dual mass flywheel is failing. The audio amplifier is dead, the driver door module is dead. The central control module has some version of a failure, the air bag lamps come and go.
The turbo has done this surge thing when throttling off idle, causing thick black smoke on launch, but is never consistent.
I disconnected the crank case breather from the valve cover. It has blow-by, but nothing out of the normal.
I put a timing belt on it at 101k. The cam went down at 120k and I replaced it.
One of the rear rotors is in bad shape.
It has decent Michelin tires on it.
Clear title. I hit a deer in 2015 that damaged the passenger side front. It was repaired with an insurance claim. My dumb**** brother then let the car roll nose first under the side of my 2nd Gen, which left a mark/crease on the hood.
All of the issues I'm aware of other than the body damage are known common issues with this vintage of car. I haven't abused it, it's just a sack of **** from VW.
168k currently, and pulls 38.6mpg hand calculated. I saw as high as 51mpg on several road trips.
I'm asking $2k, and is not negotiable unless you are a regular on CompD.
I will post pictures as I get them.
