Didnt someone over on DD have nightmares with their turbonetics?

Wouldn't surprise me. But like any product, there is bound to be failures at some point.

They mentioned since it is a y2k midframe charger that it is intended for "race applications" and doesn'tcome with their same 1 year no hassle warranty like the small frame chargers do. But he said if i have any issues with it, they will do anything they can to take care of me. Not to mention, the price I paid...I'll take the risk.

Yes sir...

Built the compound over the course of 3 or 4 days working on it a little every night before work. They have been on for almost 2 weeks now and I am loving it. They spool super nice and the 88mm really makes some noise.

Ran around with a wacked maf and just got it returned the other day and it is so much better. It was fueling super hard and choking the motor out also had insane injector rattle. It is so quiet now after the re tune and spools way faster. I will be hitting the track next week on the 15th and dyno on the 18th.

I'm getting 22psi from the 88mm and 52psi overall. I can't wait to get bigger injectors.

Here is the first test drive.

Duramax twin turbo 72/88mm:

Here is a 4x4 launch, really smokey on spool up, this was before the maf rescale. Adding the 88mm really cleaned up what the 72 alone couldnt.

Duramax Twin turbo 4x4 launch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2Wf1vJne3A

And here is the maf rescaled how quick it spools. I floor it, downshifts, converter locks and it takes right off.

Engine build 1000+hp

This is a great build! I actually think my maf is bad as well. It won't spool as good as it should and fuels like crazy. Also has lots of injector rattle as well
Here is a peek at my billet s475 Click the image to open in full size.

Well i took the truck to the track last week. I was hopi g for 11.6 or faster.

Ended up clicking off an 11.51@119 on my rather worn out falken wild peak ats. I am happy with it. Emailed my tuner this afternoon and asked for a little bit bigger tune. There wasn't much left to go so we will see what it can do this friday at the track. I just want to break 120+ mph trap speed.

So far 119mph weighing 7000lbs puts me at 800 wheel hp.

Picked up a set of 120% injectors and swapped them in. Hit the track last week trying to hit a 10.9, got close. She went 11.3@126 weighing 6900 lbs. 1.93 60'...track prep was bad. It has the mph for a high 10.

Picked up some new chargers...s475 for the high pressure and an s500sx 98mm for the atmo. Also had my stock cp3's turned into dual 85% cp3's. Holds rail pressure all day long and makes 80 psi boost. Dynoed at 1232hp this last Thursday and went 10.8@131 weighing 7000lbs this last Friday in 99° heat and 8000' DA. The truck runs great. I'm looking into having my poor 170,000 mile injectors rebuilt and worked into a set of cobras or standard 175% overs. Also might have to redo a good chunk of my compound piping, the damn PPE fabricated pedestal keeps blowing out. Every seem and joint on it has blown out more than once. Going to move to a cast pedestal. Hit the dirt drags last night and had a blast. Overall I am very happy with the truck...now the quest to break 1350hp and trap 135+mph

Here's the 98mm wheel before fitting it into the s500sx cover. Has extended tip out to 145mm.

I wish I had another shot about a second after the launch, zero smoke. Those turbos make quick work of 120% injectors.

When are you planning on seeing how much more the new turbo makes?

Wasnt happy with my compounds so I re did some of it. Built a new hot pipe between chargers, new cold side intercooler pipe and v-banded the y-bridge/cold side pipe. Sand blasted everything and had it powder coated "peka-blue". Also had the gt55 housing polished. Very happy with how it turned out.
