Just got to convince them that although they can change gears in the drop boxes just not that fast.

The 3 speed robs a touch more power than a drop box-but put the 3 spd. and a dropbox together and you rob twice the power. We have ran 3 spd.s in alky trucks and the power loss was not worth it by no means.Remember Dale has no dropbox so his truck is at no more dis advantage than anyone else's.

True it might rob alittle more power because of the twin counter shaft. but I think that I gain from not having to turn a front drive shaft and front dif,and front tires. Soo I beleave I will gain Hp verses a 4x4 may be we can compete with less HP.

think I've heard of people using section of an alum. light pole as driveshaft encasement/shields...

back to the 1-spd vs. 3-spd thing... just how much more power does the 3-spd rob? 5% more than 1-spd? 10%?

I don't think that on the Diesels you would notice the lost hp because of so much more tq..

I hope we can make some beleavers out of some people soon to bring them over to the Darkside Just like when the diesels started pulling the gassers said they couldn't conplete them(gassers) How do they like it now HeHe.

Oh you most definatly are equal or lesser power loss than a 4x4.With no transfer, front shaft, front axel, you most likely are alot less. But I was trying to answer the question of why the 4x4 guys dont run a 3 spd. When you combine all that stuff together is when you will feel it.
For those guys disbeleiving I have hooked against 2wd blower trucks and they can be pretty bad a$$.I think you stand a good chance of being competitive. The big thing in my eyes is you are doing it---most people do not have the balls to even try something new.Dale does your rear have a banter style/needled center section?

I under stood what you was saying about the 4x4.
I realy don't know any thing about this rear end ecept what the gear ratio is5.16 and that it is a SQHR and that it came out of a SMTW NTPA truck and that it is damm heavey I was told it is indestrucktable
And I hope the snow ball keeps getting bigger..
I hope that Brazilian motor works out for him I have driven a lot of truck with them in from stock to to being turned up they are a good motor fairly stock any more than that they start haveing alot of deferant things go wrong What is his weight going to be.
