Measuring tools

I don't have any decent/reputable measuring equipment of my own, so I want to start buying a few things. Uses will be for engine rebuilds and general measuring of various parts. Here are some things I am planning in getting, feel free to comment what you have and what you have had good luck with.

1. Mitutoyo electronic 0-6" calipers
2. SPI dial 0-12" calipers
3. Starrett dial 0-1" indicator
4. Noga mag base
5. Mics...not sure what sizes or brand?
6. Starrett or Mitutoyo metric/english 6" rule
7. Feeler gauges - I have a few Lisle sets, but open for suggestions on improvements.

How large? I have some inside sets that go from 4 to 40", and some smaller stuff as well. Rusty when I got them, but it cleans up pretty easy with steel wool and 3 in 1 oil. Whatever Starrett makes them out of, it's durable.

Lol, I worked with an engine builder that had a multiple set, you just used the same mic.

Anything you could help with RonA??
