compound turbos

Hey I'm new to the forum. Looking for a little advice on my 1999 24v project. I'm planning on making my own compound turbo setup using nonwastegated turbos only. I was thinking a s360 and s475. Is it necessary to have a internally gated turbo for the primary if I run 2 externals gates? (One charging the s475 after the primary is done spooling and the other as a backup to get rid of drive pressure)

I will tell you before people jump your case. There is a search function on this forum and a ton of information of other people's experiences on this subject and many others. I would think you would be fine with one gate. That would be a nice street setup. If you have thick skin you will fit in good around here. Welcome to compd
