Austin watches about every thread I read these days
Anyone use the DNR set? I want some dang ol good fasteners without robbing a bank. Haisley might just be that way if no customer reach is made.

The real question is who is brave enough to risk a head gasket and labor to try it? Would I spend the extra $$$ to get a set that are tried and true? You bet.

You thinking about testing them Brandon?
I bet you can get a single one for a small fee and do that. Hell I really didn't think about that. If they don't answer i will look into it.

Extreme-studs.com They clear the valve covers without the washer under the nut. I think with any stud or bolt the retorques are the answer. Adam had a gasket blow with the 625 arp studs, some like Blue are holding 700 horse with stock bolts. The quality of these studs is very good.

Damn I just bought A1 12mm ... Only for the reason of not having to machine the pedestals...
Cost me 495.
Would have spent the extra 80 for these....
Not to derail but anyone favor A1 over ARP or vice versa?
Seems all the talk is about 425 vs 625's...

Update!
Just talked to Jeff Lee at Extreme Studs for 10min asking questions and he said all studs for the truck industry are comparable to the ARP 625s they are made of a h13 material iirc. Torquings for a 12mm are 140 up to 175 max then 14mm are 150 with 200 max. Rod bolts are made of c3 material iirc.
Great guy and was willing to talk to me and answer any questions. They have been in the tractor pulling world since 96 and sell a lot to pullers and in the last 8 months got into the truck side.
Warrenty is if one breaks upon first install he will replace. Afterwards it's your baby.
The studs/girdle are just studs long enough for 7/8 girdles up to a 1 1/8 thick girdle.
Looks to be a great company expanding their horizons.

Jeff is a great guy to deal with. When I was having all my problems I told him I was going to change everything I was doing he offered my money back no questions asked. If I knew then what I know now I would have kept his studs. I had them torqued the last time to 140, if I had just done some retorques the gasket probably would have held.

H13 is a nice vacuum hardened steel, I'm assuming the reason why they don't need to be retorqued a lot is due H13 being pretty well heat resistant. If the price was the same as new age 625 I would probably choose the H13 still, the only real advantage new age 625 has is that it's more resistant to to corrosion. It's still hard to compare them since we don't know the exact specifics for the heat treatment being used on either stud. The biggest questions for my geeky self would be what temperature were they quenched and and what were they tempered at?
