Gathering up some parts, need some help!

Just a couple updates on this build, found my old waterman pump I used on my race car a few years back. Its still a 500 series and should do the trick, but ill be calling waterman to confirm the old pump will last.

Also stripped down the block ill be using to get it ready for machine work and paint.

Just a heads up 6x013 are not going to run clean. To get it to run clean you'll need 7 hole sac and a 13mm pump for 800hp. I ran 6x012 with 181s in a 215 pump and made 767 but it was dirty. Ron Alan got his to run clean by going with a 13mm and 7 hole

I really don't think my goal is unattainable. Ive read a lot of guys setups on here that were similar to what i'm building, with over 800 and run clean, when driven accordingly. And I don't think a benched and maxed 180 pump flowing 450cc will have a problem with 800, maybe i'm way off with my thinking?

Nope I don't see it being a problem at all to do 800 with your pump. My 160 pump had 181s and the plate moved almost all the way back. I have seen 6 hole sac in a few p pump 24v and they don't run that clean but they make great power.

My 6 x 0.013" large orifice SAC ran clean.
 
I currently have 7x.011, maybe I should try them out first to see how smokey they'll be and what kinda power they'd lay down.

Way to small IMO. I run those with a super B single at 375-400 HP smoke free. Not much duration though.

I'm currently dicussing with Weston what would be best for my setup, so we'll see where it goes.
 
A couple other things I have been thinking about is fasteners. Should I be doing 12mm main studs? I'm doing a block stiffener, and i feel as though the studs would also help utilize that.
Also i have done some searching on which fasteners are ok to reuse and I really haven't seen if its ok to do at all, mostly just people doing and saying they didn't have a problem. The engine im dismantling has arp rod bolts and some others as well that are only 5000 miles old.

Bottom tapped the threads for the new H11 studs. Honing the cylinders out tomorrow night and preping for paint after that.

Got the mains torqued down and ready to get line honed, and finished honing the cylinders. New set of pistons came in, debated what kind of machine work I want to get into with them, and if i should do fly cuts in case i ever decide to got with a bigger cam.
 
Putting a girdle on before line boring?
I really didn't think about it. I got a block stiffener for it just for comfort, but seeing how thin they are, I really don't know how much it would help, let alone show any signs of deflection to the mains when installed. Should I to be safe?
 
Finally sent my block to the machine shop, getting decked and honed. It has raised a couple questions... Since I will be pulling and seeing upwards of 4k+, would it be a smart thing to have the cam journals bored out for bearings? On the same note, i'm wondering if I should stick with my current cast Hamilton 188-220 or upgrade to something a little bigger that is steel?
Next, I've been seriously debating milling on the intake to port the intake side of my head. I'll be running a s363 over a s477, and i'm not so sure the benefits would out weigh the cost. Any input would be great.
Last, i'm going to be sending out the pistons to have fly cutting and some bowl work done. I really don't see it necessary as I won't be on any spray... Anyone say otherwise?
 
Nice build, The only thing I would say is to go ahead and install the camshaft bushings that way if you ever decide to run a steel cam or a different cam down the road that needs bushings they are already installed

Thanks man. That's what I was thinking... I'm gonna call the machine shop and have them do it... As for the head, I remembered that I got a used CR head laying around that's not being used. I have a while till the machine work on the block is done, so I have plenty of time to just hack that one and port it myself, there's plenty of threads on it anyway.
 
Been awhile since I last made any moves on my build. Snowboarding all winter, and with the winter we had it was a hell of a season. Also, my block sat at the machine shop for 5 months without so much as being washed let alone worked on, so that was a whole nother battle... Rescued the block, gave UCF machine in Carlisle a call and they really seem to know there stuff. So that brings me to now..
Waiting on a side draft intake from Joker fab to get here, and the engine I currently have in is coming out so I can rob the head off of it to send to UCF. They're gonnna hack off the shelf and port the intake side, as the exhaust side is already done. Boring it out for cam bearings, checking deck surface and deck plate honing the cylinders.

As of right now the setup is gonna be a billet 363 over a billet 477, no gate, Farrell Diesel maxed 180 pump w/ mild dv's, 6x16 injectors by Weston, No Limit billet 187-220, vp pistons de-lipped, ported head with side draft intake. Gonna fool around with timing but thinking right around 21-24. Anyone have any guess what this thing may make? I had higher hopes but i'm thinking right around 600-650 conservatively.
