Csp5 switch function

Does the SOTF method actually change the ecm file to another file when choosing positions 1 2 3 4 or 5?

Or does the switch just change a percentage of the one file that was uploaded into the email when programmed?

On dodge cummins the sotf switch is connected to the ecm 3 wire harness or crankcase vent connector..

Seems as if the switch just allows a percentage of max fuel etc from the one file wrote to ecm when doing the upload that takes 10 minutes or so

No. It just limits the MM3 fuel quantity value to a certain amount which limits fuel and several other things throughout the tune because it is used in the axis of the map. The only product that actually switches tunes from one to another is efilive that I am aware of. Even then you're not completely switching tunes, Just a couple dozen of the maps and tables get switched.
