Replacement Alternator
Needing a replacement alternator, who is everyone having good luck with? I would rather have something that would last than a warranty and having to replace it multiple times. Are the new ones on ebay any good? NAPA stuff any good still? O'Rileys? AutoZone? Just seems like everything is such low quality these days unless you buy a performance part or dealer part.
Just bought replacement hydro booster and P/S pump for my nephews 12v from Advanced and I was not impressed with the quality of the products. It worked since he is on a tight budget but that junk would have gone straight back if it was for me. Just junk these days it seems.

Anything electrical from orielly is 110% junk.
Napa used to be the best around us but we have to drive too far anymore so I can’t say for sure on that.
We’ve actually had good luck out of zone stuff in the past 2 years or so. Their stuff didn’t used to be worth the box they put it in, however they seemed to have changed things now days.

Why not just have the original unit rebuilt? I'd sooner buy an OEM unit from a junker or craigslist, and just have it rebuilt.

I don't know of anyone I can trust around here to do it. I guess I can buy bearings and the rectifier assembly and do it myself if the windings are good. Seems like such a crap shoot with anything anymore.

If you do end up buying one....reman. Do not buy a new one.

Pull it off and check the brushes. I just replaced those on my 1998 with 280k on it and everything looked good but the brushes.
