I hear you in the injector hold downs.
Same applied for the nuts where the wires connect to the injector. Finger tight with a socket is plenty.

Taterbuilt? I'm impressed with all the numbers and drivability that have come from the hobbit camp. It's got me thinking about switching.

Not sure how they are holding up as singles but seems people have been smoking SXE models as secondary in compounds. I think they are decent as primaries but can’t hold up for crap being fed by another charger. That’s from taking to guys that build compound and triple set ups when I was looking for someone to do my piping. 99% of them suggested Garrett’s far a spooling faster and holding up better far as bearing wise as a manifold charger. Far as custom chargers go they may mill the covers a little bit and slap a billet wheel on them but not really gonna change how fast it spoils compared to a box unit. AR size will help more then anything. But far as brands if you want best if the best Garrett’s seem to be just that. Down the road if you ever want to move up then you can still run that as you manifold charger and can go compounds and not have to sell that one if it’s the correct sizing.

I keep reading this as well but have seen minimal evidence of the actual failures. Going on 6k on mine but its not pushing hard at all. Guess I'll pull the cold pipe and have a looksee.

Yes taterbuilt. I put a 67 67 he351 on my 03 with a bd manifold. No gauges yet though. Haven't got much time on it as I just installed it yesterday.
I was talking with Larson Miller and another guy who are running them. Larson runs the 7.70 class with it with great success.

Seeing what Larson is doing with it sold me. I thought he was still running twins.

Yeah that helped my decision for sure. You just have to watch the EGT's.

i feel the same way about people cooking turbos. its all about how you drive IMO. keep good oil going thru it, dont keep the EGT's strung out for over 30 seconds (or whatever) and respect warm up and cool down times. i never kill my truck before i see 400* . ive had 4 turbos on my truck and never harmed any of them. maybe im just lucky

well i like to party.... i could turn it down but i really dont want too. If i could cut some bottom end and have a slower spool up it would be fine for me, i dont do 4wd launches or digs.

Late getting to the party, but for what it's worth I'm running an stainless diesel 5 blade s467 1.0 housing. Trucks a 06 with dual fuelers, 100% over exergy's. Stock long block and I've run 7.2 @96mph. With my weight it's in the 850-950hp range. I'd say spool up is very well. Coming from a 66/475 compund setup I honestly will say it's not far off of that setup on spooling. Gordon tunes my truck, I know that plays a large role in the drivability.

I'm liking how this thread has gotten back on track. For awhile it was the old my balls are bigger than your balls thing that just shows the wanters and strugglers for what they are. Remember back when this forum got started and old Billy just wanted help to stop smoking out his cattle in the livestock trailer? Now basically any thread that could be used for helping others and learning as a whole turns into little man syndrome and people that are marketing bs. I for one love the old 467 but am now putting on a 369 and it will perform without giving a rip about anyone on a forum that has self confidence issues.
