5 Second Street Truck Dreams

I've always been a single turbo fan, also a fan of high horsepower street trucks. My journey of "large" singles began with a s467. I ran almost every size s400 imaginable. After destroying a few stock engines with some mid-low 6 second passes I decided it was time for a built engine. 2019 a mild built 6.7 was installed that went a best of 6.14 using a FI s485 but the engine didn't last long due to a thrust bearing failure which cracked the crank. 2020 the damaged 6.7 was replaced with a deckplate 6.7 from D&J. A FI 488 was ran to break in the new deckplate engine and went a best of 6.10 fuel only. 2021 brought a new setup for me... Gtx5533r 91mm, 400% exergy injectors, 2 12mm exergy pumps, and many more changes. Earlier this year I went to Firepunk for some dyno tuning and made 1649hp fuel only and 2093hp with nitrous. I had a ton of support, encouragement, and also some skepticism with those numbers. Always fan of track times to prove power rather than dyno numbers, I was determined to back up the power my truck made. 3 no prep passes with the setup and a very small amount of nitrous on tune 3 was all that was ran. The truck was working great. It was time to make my first pass at a prepped track with the new setup but was unsure how much nitrous to throw at it. I decided to run on tune 3 with 4 kits thinking the truck would go 5.80s or so. Kit 1 was a .040 spool jet, 2 a .052 instant on as soon as the brake is released, 3 .093 time delayed, and 4 .136 time delayed. The truck made a clean pass and went 5.60@130.5 with a 1.38 60ft. Beyond happy with it for a streetable 6300lb truck . Next goal is a 5.50/135mph. I'm very thankful for everyone who has helped with the build, been supportive, and push me to go quicker.

Thanks for taking the time to read!

Congrats man. That is impressive work.

Truck still have any interior?
Thanks!

Everything except the factory seats and center console. Front seats were replaced with Kirkeys and rear seat was removed for cage and replaced with 2 15lb bottles.

Very nice!

How's the street manners?
No worse than the s488. It is smoky but we didn't work on driveability while I was out at FP. Just power and spool up. If I drove it more often on the street I would try to clean it up. I drive it to the track more often than anything else due to the kids not being able to ride in it. It lights incredibly quick even without nitrous.

Really wish there was more diesel enthusiasts around my area. I bet this truck surprised the hell out of some people.

I’d like to see some more videos.

There are a lot of diesel trucks near me but not many that race. Yes for sure people do not expect the truck to run what it does.

I have many videos on my Facebook and Instagram

You do, just get your credit card out and call firepunk for a complete build!

Lol....

I did this with the stage 3 48re swap and it's painful....

Then I look at prices of new diesels and I feel better.
