Unlocking Your Box After a Reflash (Very Important)

Good Morning and Happy Monday to All,

I would like to ask the moderators to please place this as a sticky.

To all SCT customers:

It is very important that if you go to the dealership and get reflashed that you unlock your box before loading any tunes. The Unlock button is in the Liveload software.

If you do not unlock your box, when you reload your stock file you will be loading the stock file before the reflash. This was a change made by SCT when developing the software so customers can use the same Liveload files with the Xcal2 and the Livewire.

Most of the time we don't know when the customer gets a reflash so it is impossible for us to warn anyone, that is the reason we are starting this thread.

If you have any questions or problems, please feel free to contact us or SCT directly 407-744-2447 / www.sctflash.com.

Thanks & have a great day,
Vivian

Thank you Richard. After I posted this my laptop started to act up. It's dying. It's old and tired and it's been working it's way to this. I've got a new one shipping to us mid month and DJ's trying to get it to work for now so we'll see if he has any special talents with computers

Thanks,
Vivian

Is that with the livewire only ?
or with the Xcal2 as well ?

Cornfused as usual in Texus - but isn't there just 5 unlocks per unit ?

That is anytime your strategy changes for either the Xcal2 or the Livewire. You get five unlocks. If you use up the five unlocks, SCT will reset it for you but you will need to send the tuner to them. I believe there is a $65 charge for resetting the unlocks.

Thanks,
Vivian

Dumb question, Does anything change when you reflash your truck that you can notice? I know it costs money to have them do it. I was just curious

i would run an oasis and see that way, since you can't read the strategy with the Superchip i don't think there is a way to tell, other than to sell the superchip and buy an SCT.

Hi,

I wanted to update these instructions. You only need to unlock your SCT if you have an Xcal2. The X3 and Livewire unlock themselves.

Thanks,
Vivian
