Autocross/track truck
Long time lurker, first time poster over here on CompD.
I have been told that I should start a thread over here following my autocross truck build, so without further ado, here we go.
The truck started life as a 2003 2wd RCLB 6.0 zf6 truck.
Then, it got shorter....

I am in the possess of doing this with a 71 C10, putting a short box on it and a repowered with a duramax. Are you seeing any problems with EGT's, oil temp and stuff like that when running on the track?

A few thousand miles later, this happened...
So, it got a fresh mill
.... and a new clutch thanks to Valair and my boys at Complete Performance
All back together with some proper shoes. 18x8.5 American Eagle 050 superfinish wheels wrapped in 285/60/r18 Cooper Zeon LTZ rubber.

Now we are getting to the good stuff. I got it out to the test and tune and got familiar with how the truck handled. Up until this point, I had never autocrossed in my life. So, naturally my first runs look rather slow. (hint: they are)
Also note: the test and tune track is about half the length of a normal track

The second day was the first points race of the year. I was able to improve leaps and bounds throughout the day, and wound up with a pretty solid finish.
Here are the results, I am at the bottom of NX-F. They did not know how to class me (Imagine that!) So, This was their best guess.

Also, before my final heat, I found a nail in the tire. It wasn't leaking too bad, so I decided to run it and just watch my tire pressures.

Internal head gasket leak caused the cylinder to fill with coolant, bend the pushrod, and weld the valves. The cylinder carnage is a result of that.

After the first race, I decided that I wanted a rear swaybar. The body roll wasn't too awful before, but I was having problems keeping traction with the outside tire out of the corners.
Derek Vonderhaar sent me a swaybar from an 02 CCLB truck to remedy that.
Being that I have a RCSB, I had to drop the tank to get the driver's side sway bar end link in.

The next day was sunny and warm, so we were back to racing.
The sway bar definitely helped keep traction through the corners, I ran all day without any major issues.
There did happen to be another truck that showed up. It was a half-ton 4.8 N/A chevy with a 5 speed. We ran neck and neck all day, and he wound up beating me by 0.255s.

For the next race, I went to a single battery setup. Got there, ran 3 runs and realized that a sway bar end link was loose (the one that I have to drop the tank to get to). Ran the last three runs that way. Also, I began having power steering problems on one of the turns. What we figured out was that the bump before the turn was causing an air pocket in the lines, and when I went to mash on the brakes and turn, I would have neither brakes nor power steering. Stuffed a rag in the top of the reservoir and the problem went away. Got on the road at 8pm, drove an hour home and immediately got to work on the sway bar. Grabbed a few hours of sleep just do it all again in the morning.

Got to the track the next morning, and the weather was perfect! Also, after walking the track, I had a good feeling about how the rest of the day was going to go...
When I got back to my truck to check air pressures, I found a 12mm bolt in my tire (yep, same one as last time!) Jammed 2 plugs in it, and ran it all day.

I was trapping about 80mph in the straightaway

Um. How does your wheelbase affect your handling?

The shorter wheelbase obviously has a much better turning radius. It does ride harsher than a longer wheelbase truck. The COG is low, and the weight is very planted, in all honesty it handles very well for what it is.
