She may not have that many problems with the engine (besides injectors), but then she'll have to deal with all that Dodge junk the engine is wrapped in.

Sorry to hear and good luck. 6.0s are a love hate relationship, I've only got to drive mine twice in the 3 months I've owned it.

Has anyone ever delt with a tappet failure before? From what I'm told this is a rare occurance even for the 6.0L

I have had them fail in a gas engine never in a diesel.

I was told they shut it off immediately after they heard it. It happened after they first cranked it over once they put it all back together from replacing the head.

Normally in my experience it takes out the lifter/tappet and the cam.

my cousins truck had a tappet failure while cruising down the road and it ruined the entire motor. cross your fingers
