Direct axle swap

Busted spider gears on my 3.54 rear axle 1999 dodge am i only limited to axles from 98-99 dodge cummins? Or can i use 12 valve axles as well.

I believe any axle from a 94-02 2500/3500 will bolt in depending on what you have now. I swapped a 97 rear axle into my 01 with no issues. Dana 80s and 70s might require a different length driveshaft if your slip yoke can't make up the difference. Just make sure if it comes from a gas truck that it isn't a Dana 60.
