Im getting ready to pull trigger on my project. Just want to get all my ducks in a row before i start. What options do i have to be able to use the half ton rear axle?

Sorry have a d150. 12v 47rh 2wd. Can i use the cummins driveshaft and get a special u joint to work with the 1/2 ton axle? Somehow use 1/2 ton shaft for correct ujoint on axle side and put use the cummins yoke that slides into the trans on the other? How is everyone doing it?

If you use the 9-1/4 1/2 ton axle, you should be able to use the Dana 70 1410 yoke.
Keep in mind that you should put in a new crush sleeve and even at that I don't think it will like it very much.
There may be a crush sleeve eliminator kit for the 9-1/4 out there, which would certainly be a wise investment.

I look at it like this, if you'd have to do some beefing up with a 440 MoPar to use it, then it definitely needs it using a stone stock Cummins. :D

Mark.
