New 12 valve head quality
Anyone on here had one of these new heads from China? I found a listing for a complete bare head for 300 to my door. Seems cheap but China cast kinda makes me nervous, I guess everyone thinks Hamilton heads are sliced bread and they’re cast in China correct?

Just need a clean head. I have 5 that are all cracked on the seats.

They make OK cores. Just plan on grinding the valve seats and milling them. I’ve been running one for several years at over 900hp with no failures. Mine has a fair amount of porting done to it, and I didn’t run into any serious casting issues while grinding. I actually have one on the truck and another as a spare.

I know you are asking about a Cummins head, and my experience is with the Chinese castings for the 6.0 Powerstroke. I have used dozens of sets (13 sets last year alone) with ZERO issues.
I echo what Drothgeb says, be prepared to grind valve seats and surface.
We NEVER buy complete, assembled heads (quality of work was sorry), and we’ve had great luck.

"Complete bare head"
It'll most likely need surfaced if you don't want it to leak water.

I planned on surfacing and grinding the valves. I’ve been seeing they lack flow due to the heavier casting.
