Question, cam or rocker ratio?

I'm looking for ways to bump up the power on my 1st gen and have been looking at cams. In the process of looking at cams, I came across different rocker ratios and thought that it might be easier to go with them than to do a cam swap. The price for them seem higher but it's a lot more accessible.

I have a couple of questions concerning the factory cam. My engine is non-IC, do these have a hotter factory cam? And how much a rocker ratio change can I go without piston to valve clearance issues? Is the factory cam actually worth keeping (with or without the higher ratio rockers) or just bite the bullet and get a better cam?

Thanks Ed

If it's still a ve, save your money, you cant get enough rpm's to see any significant difference.

I wouldn't mess with the rockers if it was me, you just get more lift and the same duration and lsa. A performance cam that's ground from scratch will have a lot more than just added lift.

10-4 remember reading a thread that a fella from Finland drilled the adjuster threads on a stock set and pressed a bushing into them and turned them into like a 1.75
