12 valve 3rd Gen Swap Throttle Pedal

I'm currently doing a 12 valve swap into an '05 3rd gen. I've scoured the forums looking for anything on this and I don't see anywhere that anyone explains how they did the throttle. I removed the pedal assembly from the 2nd gen and it's different than the 05 assembly, mounting wise. Can anyone shed some light on this issue for me? Any help is much appreciated.

2003 and 2004 use a cable-operated accelerator pedal.
There are numerous different throttle cables available for those years.

Mark.

Nice, I did not know that, I thought all 3rd gens would've had drive by wire seems how the CP3 isn't controlled by a cable.
I'd be very interested in see homemade setups tho, I'm on a just had a baby budget and wanna do this as cheap as possible.

They are drive by wire, well everything 98.5-up is, just they put the APPS on the engine before they got smart and stuck it in the truck.

I used a early 3rd gen 1500 throttle petal and a second gen 12v cable. On a 2006 we swapped in a p pumped 12v.

Very good idea! Did it bolt to the aluminum pedal assembly base just like the diesel pedal did? Send a pic if you could please.

It was a direct swap just bolt it up. I don’t have any pic. I swapped the truck for someone else. But only thing I had to modify was a square hole for the cable to lock into on firewall. I got the part # for the pedal assembly at the shop I can get tomorrow it was about 100 dollars at the dealership.

Currently in the process of doing this now. The 12 valve throttle cable should work just fine. Only issue with mine is the clip on the cable for the firewall is square and my 04 is a round hole. My 04 also was a hemi, so little different process than most who had CR trucks to start with.

I can get some pics if you haven't already figured it out.
