Tach help

So I have a used aftermarket autometer tach with the dakota digital dsl-1e signal changer box, a new auto meter magnetic pickup with 4 blocks on my dampener. Everything powers up like it should, I can get into the dakota box and change settings, the crank sensor is set to .040 gap like the instructions say. But I'm not getting a reading on my tach. I've tried to download the online setup instructions for the signal changer but hasent helped me much.. anyone have any experience with these? What settings do I have to have the box on? Thanks for any help in advance

I have the same setup and it didn't work. I ran the pickup in till it hit the ring gear, then backed it out 1/2 turn. Works great now.

Make sure a tooth is in the middle of the hole when you set the gap.
