1.19 60ft?!
I'm surprised this hasn't been brought up already...Taylor Overcash's 4x4 6.4L tube chassis Ford.

Don't know why that thing doesn't get much play on here; I'm supposing it's because he's in the 'post forum era' group of folk. Buddy of mine helped assemble & weld that chassis so I got to see it being built.

If Rudy’s wouldn’t rainout every time, this kind of thing would get seen more
There are some quick rides out that way.

Compd is simply not the place for real time race updates anymore. Nobody cares to post up here when the gram is easy.
Saw a few vids a week back, truck looks strong!

Yeah I know those days of the forums are gone, but it’s hard to get any accurate and useful info from places like Instabook....it also seems kinda weird a truck would come out of nowhere and blast both Lavon and JPs 60fts. Especially a Ferd So of course that made me all the more curious!

isn't this Ferd a pro-mod truck? JP and Lavon are both pro street, no?
I guess that would explain why it wasn't as shock and awe.

You are correct it is a VERY lightweight 4WD Ford...

Also gotta give it up for the guy behind the build - Eric Yost aka 'bigun' of "Customs by Bigun".
back to the truck - are there any other 4x4 promods out there?

I believe Taylor's is the only 4WD ProMod currently racing... But I have seen another truck that is 4WD that could also run ProMod!!! I believe the team is still deciding on weather or not to add weight to run ProStreet or to run it like it is in ProMod...

Props to Overcash. A facebook article says he’s been 5.15 @ 135. That’s essentially a 7.99 pass. Great work.

What’s a promod? Seems like a really loose term tossed around... fwiw Johnny Gilbert has a complete tube frame 4wd deep in the 5’s at 4500#ish but it’s not considered pro mod because it’s heavy??

You’ll get a lot of debate about what is or isn’t a pro mod.
Carbon fiber or fiberglass body = pro mod.
I’d say a steel body (roof/quarters on a car, or cab on a truck) and original vin tag would mean it’s not a pro mod. Weight doesn’t have much to do with it, it just so happens to be the name picked by some diesel classes. A stock 3000# jetta tdi isn’t a pro mod.
