gettin Garmonized.....

We did nine transmission jobs last week, and both out of town appointments were in and out in one hour! Rick and kyle should work on a top fuel team!

it would have almost been worth my time to drive there & have the trans done at your place with times like that........very impressive.

Trans was dropped off yesterday & TC was the day before...THANK YOU Jeff for your time & fast service.

SLVRBullet....These are times on 4x4's...

They did mine in 18-19 mins... I sat there and timed them..

From the tranny on the stand and crap all over the floor (drives shaft, transfer case, skid plates, etc) to Ready to lower the truck down from the lift.....It was Awesome

I stopped and looked at the beast today sitting in the crate all nice and shiny.

I will be tearing into it first thing on the am and hope to be done by lunch.
Obviously not a record setting pace like Swole is talking about but I guess it'll do.

well its in & my first thoughts as i was taking it for a test drive were HOLY SH%$ there is no way this thing shifts that nice, then it went into lock up & it was like a dream come true. I honestly cant beleive how smooth this this shifts.

My only concern is about the temps..... i have my sender in the hot return line & even though the temps are much cooler than the unit i took out it did creep up to 200 - 210 while sitting still in gear....but once again my sender is in the hot line so it makes me wonder if i should be getting my reading from the already cooled fluid & put the sender in the pan. I would have to imagine the fluid in the pan has to be at least 15-20 * cooler...right. or am i just crazy????

I keep mine in the hot line, so if i get retarded i know when to back off. It seems the coolers on these trucks suck just as much as the 2nd gens. I got rid of the factory one and after that never saw temps above 140 in 95 degree weather drag racing. I had two 30k gvw coolers on the front of the truck though.

I have a 30k gvw cooler with a aux. Fan sitting on my bench.... Guess maybe I should look into putting it on.

They seem a bit high to me. If you are getting those temps just driving and getting on it a bit I'd hate to see temps if you haul or pull a trailer with it.

Today I received a call from Jeff to check on the newborn and I have to say this was a first for me..... I have never received a call from any vendor to see how there product was working for me. Jeff really is a stand up guy that cares not only for his product hes putting out there but also his customers....THANKS AGAIN Jeff

He even spent the time to answer some of my questions/observations about the trans.

Im pretty confident at this time that my temps. Are within reason so I guess I can try to put my trans temp paranoia to rest..... I think. I may still try and find a home for the derale cooler that's sitting on the bench. As small as they are it's still pretty tough to find a decent location for them.

I also had some time to give Big Swole a call & put a voice to the carnage
pics....LOL. I'm pretty sure we will be talking again...:Cheer: Thanks for your time.

Ok that's enough for now......:blahblah1::blahblah1::blahblah1:

Jeff asked me this morning if you got your trans in this weekend. Glad you like it!
Swole, must have gotten your truck back on the road yesterday. Did you find your demon?

"like" is an understatement..... I just wish at this point I would have made the call to Jeff a few thousand dollars earlier.

Do you guys have any thoughts on installing the derale aux. Trans cooler.... Should I bypass the small factory cooler or leave it on and run the aux. Cooler in series with it. Keep in mind this is my daily driver also. Thanks

Well!! Yes and No..

We f'ng had to pull the tank out 3 freakin times to figure it out..
Long story short, I had to go back to my draw straw deal until we can devise a new plan with the canister..

I'm not completely convinced this FASS they just fixed for me still isn't messed up.. I may send it back to be checked again..

We didn't leave the shop till 1 AM... Ugh!!

Swole, throw on a Hellman Fuel Sump, I did and I love it!

Thought about it...

Question though. If you're low on fuel (Less than 1/4 or 1.8) and you were parked on a hill...(Given the draw / flow of my fass 220 gph pump), Wouldn't it still get "Robbed" of fuel and stall??

This used to happen with my old draw straw...

Plus with a street truck that MAY (very little) see some off road, Aren't you worried about something snagging that sump and/or fuel line??

are you planning on driving through a flower bed or over a potted plant......:lolly:

thers no way i would take that truck off road if it was mine.

on another note here is my 3 day trans update.....

i still cant get over how nice this trans is & how smooth it shifts..... my old trans only had 160 psi line pressure & when it locked up it felt like someone kicking you in the backside & the Garmon trans has 210 psi & its a thing of beauty when it locks up.

Temps really do seem to be in check now, i`ve been in alot of stop & go already this week & it sits right around 170-180 & if it does get any warmer i just pit it in manual 2nd & the temps come right back down in a hurry.

I may still put the derale aux. cooler on it but i just gotta find a good "safe" place for it.
