Ferguson TO20 turbo?

Well, I've been by myself at work tonight, and the mind wonders. As the exhaust manifold on this tractor has a 3 bolt flange, i figure it'd be fairly easy to put a turbo on. Now in this likely hypothetical situation, the tractor is used as a toy. My main question is, what size turbo would a guy need for it to actually work? 120 inch engine, factory rated at 2200 rpms.

Not the same, but I jammed a turbo of an Audi A4 onto a Massey 44 diesel lol that thing whistled. I never did get a boost gauge on it but I also had a 20lb propane tank feeding the intake.

Rpm are the same but the 44 diesel prob moved way more air. I think it was a k31? Don’t really remember

Yeah, I'm thinking it probably needs to be smaller than what is average, since it's only about 6:1 compression. It might be slightly higher as I'm 98% sure its been rebuilt, but probably not much higher.

Was just gonna suggest. The one on my skid steer is pretty tiny.

Off topic: Those things run forever, I wouldn't mess with it. We have a 1953 TO30, it spent most of its life in the 70's, 80's, 90's with either a 5 ft bushhog, running a manure spreader, or a grain auger wagon. We even had a hitch for the front would tie the steering wheel and tow it with the bushhog behind the tractor. In the late 90's it lost an oil pump, and from the best we could tell the engine had never been opened up. We still have it, but it sees very little use, primarily parade duty. I wouldn't turbo it, run it like it is!

This one belonged to my late grandfather, not original owner, but I just don't even have the opportunity for any practical use. Only reason I'm even considering it, is he was the type to always be tinkering with something, and I'm sure he'd have gotten quite the kick out of a turbo! He loved riding in my truck.

We have antique pulls every year. I’d say turbo it. Lol enjoy it. I’ve got an 8n with a bum motor. I’m not sure what I’m gonna do with yet.

I used to do quite a bit of antique pulling. Primarily with a Farmall M that my great grandfather was the second owner of, and a Co-OP E3 I was playing with, but haven't done much the past 4-5yrs, life just gets in the way. Actually sold my gooseneck to help with buying our house. Still have two M's, the E3, and this Ferguson, and a little over 4k lbs of weights! The Ferguson just isn't much of a puller, unless i can find a Sherman underdrive for it. Not many pure farm/stock classes around anymore either to even have a competitive chance either. I do know a cool old timer with a TO30 with the Sherman, he will tug pull as heavy as 6500lb class with it! He hangs weights from weights! Has a crane on his trailer he loads/unloads them ass with, really slick setup.

Hahaha! No idea! He's a pretty smart old dude, I'm sure he's thought out all of the bracket mounting. The tractor was bought new by either his dad or granddad. He found it and completely restored it. The engine isn't anything fancy, just a full rebuild.

I run my Massey 30 in the 5-6000 lb class and out pull there too lol those little tractors are impressive and when you can weight up a light tractor you can out more on the back end.
