Newbie 4:10’s

02 dodge 13mm pump 24 valve NV-4500 can I pull 4th gear 4low with 4:10’s? My budget is going to stick me with 4:10’s my first year… Dana 60 lock out hubs 35 spline axles full spool /Dana 80 37 spline full spool. I have never pulled a sled so thank you for your help.. 2.6 class

Gonna need to know a bit more on the setup.

Injectors?
Tire size?
Weight?
What kinda sled?

I’m unsure of sled northwest Missouri and Iowa , machine shop still has pump they are also doing injectors but idk yet. I figured 35” tires but havnt bought yet , I was going to hang weight so I weighed 8,000. I’m super green. 02 dodge 2500 ext cab long box

Unless you have a pretty healthy engine I don’t think it’s gonna pull 4th, if my outdated memory is any good to me.

If the calculator I’m using is correct, that’s:
88mph at 3500rpm
101mph at 4K rpm
114mph at 4500 rpm.

Dropping down to 4.88’s, that’s:
74mph at 3500
85mph at 4K
96mph at 4500

If you drop to 3rd gear with 35’s and 4.10’s, you’re looking at:
53mph at 3500
61mph at 4000
68mph at 4500

This is all pending my brain working correctly. Questionable at best
 
He's running 4-low. 35" tires with 4:10s and a 4-low 2.72:1should be this.

That's what I thought. Easy to do though. You were spot on though for 4-high and 4.10 gears.

I would say if you must run 4.10s then stick to a 33" tire. Will be easier to spin. I ran 33s a long time ago with 4.10s but with a automatic (47rh)

I’d say the 33’s are a better idea as well.

I run direct/low/4.10’s with 33’s in work stock on a 12 valve and it has worked fine so far, 3500-4000 rpm down the track. I opted for 33’s because of the fast gear
 
alots gunns depend on the tracks , 4.10s on a tight track will be too much in most case running direct , dusty loose track different story 4.56 or 4.88 is prob your best plan. hopefully you make it some eci hooks. need all the trucks we can get
