help with stock stereo in 99 ram - Competition Diesel.Com

the display om my stock 99 ram stereo is out most of the time, comes on for a few seconds once in awhile.pulled stereo out one time just to see what i could see and the display stayed lit for about a week. anybody have a cure for this?

Its 12 years old and probably just worn out and needs replaced.

second ^^ that just but a $100 dead unit or but a new factory one or take a drive to your local juk yard and see what you can find

the stereo works fine, its just the display that comes and goes. i saw a site that says they will send you a fix for it, but it cost money for the info. i just figured im not the only one with this issue maybe someone on here did too and knew about that fix.

Yeah your head unit is almost donzo.. go out and buy an aftermarket, get an amp and replace all the speakers while your at it, run the speakers off the amp. Should be good to go then
