Bed differences in 2007 and 2010 structures

Trying to find a Western Hauler looking/style headache rack for my mega long bed. I found this one but they state it's good for 2010+ trucks. They say they've never tried it on a 2009 or earlier truck and that I'd have to bring it in to see if it will fit. They are Fort Worth, TX.

Anyone know off hand what all changed in the back of the cab/front of the bed between 03-09 and the 10+ trucks? Anyone have both at their disposal to show me the differences?

Products - Aluminum Headache Racks - Dodge Headache Rack - ALUMINUM TANK TANK ACCESSORIES, INC

And a heavy ass steel one in Amarillo from Tumbleweed.

Either work for me but both need alley lights.

Pickup Truck Measurements: Bed Length More | Truck Addons

I’ll go measure my bed in a minute. I think the older trucks had a little bit of a taper to them.

I found that one. And the reason I called the OEM was that the website says

2009-2013 1500/2500/3500 Long 96.38" 65.5"

Showing 2009 thru 2013 to be the same. Well, the 07 long bed I have is the same as the 09 short bed...at least I think it is as far as the front end it concerned. I'll have to compare them when I get my truck back from the chop shop.

Didn’t the 4th gen body start in 09 for 1500s and 10 for the rest, or was that the 2nd/3rd switch? That might be part of the confusion.

Probably some of it. New headlights started in 2009 for 1/2 and 3/4. 1-ton changed in 2010.

According to the tonneau cover company I have the 2007 vs 2010 are a different part number. What the exact difference is I am not sure but there obviously is one.

I know on my 2021 the bed is 2" wider on a 3500 than a 1500 at the cab.

I never thought about the cover manufacturers. I could probably call one of them and find someone helpful. They of anyone should know the differences.
