Option to buy... should I?

I may have the option to buy an older(pre 1990) Ford F250. It's the fiance's grandpa's truck. I dont know exactly how many miles are on it, but it hasnt seen winter for the past prolly 15 years. It has been having some starting issues this summer and he's going to just haul it off to the scrap yard. When we were over earlier this summer working on it, i crawled underneath it. the frame is darn near spotless and it has a good bed on it.

It's a regular cab, long bed, 4wd, automatic with the 6.9L in it.

Any thoughts?

Give him scrap price or a little more? Then you'd have some wheels for around the farm.

still have a 90 f superduty dump runs like new put new pump and injectors return lines and glow plugs in it few years ago. got deal on some old NOS u haul parts cost less than 500 bucks sits for months starts every time!

I would buy it!! All else fails drive till you get parts for a swap or someone offers more money for it!!

Buy it and do a Cummins swap to it. You'd have a fun truck.

I've never had the brick nose with a diesel but we have a few gassers and it is by far my favorite interior. Its a little roomier inside than the obs I think. I would snatch it up for scrap for price in a heart beat.
