Sounds like it is all going to work out in the end for you!

Have you looked at some of his other work, was there any work there in the shop at the time you were there. There are swindlers out there and I'd hate to see anyone get snookered by someone stat said the right things...

Years ago when I lived in Tempe, AZ I was going to get a transmission built for my Camaro and the guy was saying all the right things and I was going to pull the trigger with him, then I saw his shop on the local news where he swindled all kinds of money doing junk trans rebuilds...

If it sounds too good to be true, it might be!

He has worked on wife's friends car. And her sons 68 Chevy pickup. He had his 72 chevelle in the shop. He mainly works on classic cars. He also buys insurance totaled trucks. Rebuilds them and sales them in his slow time.

No. The rust on a vehicle is a chemical reaction. Sacrificail anodes work for electrolysis.

The best bet is to get ya an old junker to drive in the winter months. However, if you have to drive the good one, as long as it stays cold (the colder the better) the chemical reaction slows or even stops. Don't drive in the salt and come home and park in the heated garage. Leave it outside unless you plan to do a spring wash up.
