i was wondering if i could run veg without doing anything to it just putting it in the tank?

Depends....
What temp is it outside? How much are you putting in? Is it warm enough to keep the veggie oil from jelling up?
If you are wanting to run straight veggie oil your best bet is a heated system that will allow you to purge with diesel. If you are wanting to mix it with the fuel in the tank I would go no more than 50/50 while temps are above 80* and back it down to 80/20 with an additive in the winter.
Now you folks who have really looked into this, please point out where I have told him wrong, this is all half remembered :bang
