Ha! Good use for a gremlin! I do like how he kept the factory gauges, steering wheel, etc. I hate it when people put so much custom modern crap in a classic car you can't even tell what it is anymore.
 
Is there an aftermarket for those engines?
Im sure with some work they could put that thing in the 50mpg range

Exactly, vast majority are just there, they have no soul or individual identity. That definitely cannot be said about a Gremlin!
