Been thinking about dropping my truck 2inches in the rear how does it seem with the shackles. Just debating on pulling the overload spring or drop shackles.

OP, that's an awesome truck!! Looks like a great one to start building.

I just did drop shackles and removed the overload on mine for a total of 3" drop. Have to use a second gen airbag kit to make it work but it's well worth the effort, IMO. Still can haul and looks a ton better (excuse the grandpa steps).

I already have air bags on mine that would be my reasoning for pulling the overloads an it should ride better. I just like the looks of racin4broke's mega cab if I can get mine lowered an ride better but still b able to haul I'd be happy.

The Caltracs are awesome! Had them on a second gen reg cab 2wd before this truck. They just flat out work! Pia to install on the third gen, but that just because the factory leaf spring bushings are a pain to remove. Other than that they're not bad to install.

Cummins6.7trip- with the Firestone third gen airbag kit and drop shackles on my 2wd truck, it would bottom out easily (bags would bottom out). If it's a 4wd a guy could probably get away with it by changing the bracket over to the 2wd holes, but I couldn't gain anymore travel with mine without having to notch the frame. That was even before I pulled that thick bottom overload leaf out of the spring pack.

Looks like a truck my buddy eddy would own. He seemed to always paint the mirrors like that truck looks good though. Sucks about hitting the deer.
