Have somebody ever machined Cummins 12V marine 370 coated pistons for valve reliefs.

The normal non-coated marine piston have 14mm ring landing and some have 0.150 machine reliefs, but the coated piston have 10mm ring landing if I machine the same reliefs (0.150) will they be to close to piston rings.

Here is picture of my piston.

Well there should still be approximately 6mm left to the ring land if you cut .150 reliefs, I can't see that being an issue.

It interestiin, marine 370 piston use the longer piston pin.

The same pin what is installed to CR engine pistion.

Here is side by side , left CR pin and right regular 12 piston pin
