Is it possible and if so has it been done? If it can be done is it worth the money to do the swap.

Holy ****

YOU MIGHT AS WELL PACK AND GO HOME

IIRC, it won't work. Why not just P&P a 12v head?

I'm not sure who's smoking what but it must be some good stuff! You can put a 6.7 head on a 12v block if you wish, just takes the proper combination of parts. Search, search, search!

cummins450r, please make every effort to place technical questions in the appropriate technical forum. You have soundly failed with this attempt.

Thread moved.

Poor guy. Hit up the search and to answer your question yes it can be done. Welcome to compD haha

It can very well be done, but it also requires modification of the head gasket, IIRC.

The OP did not ask for opinions like "It's not worth the money", or "You won't be better off." I'm fed up with coming to this site and only seeing people pissing around about the OP being a n00b (which should be obvious considering that they are asking for advice), or not using the search function. :rant-off:

Anyway, I'm eager to see what comes of this.

Are you fukking retarded? He LITERALLY asked, "Is it worth the money?" in his first post. THAT EXACT QUESTION!

He did ask if its worth the money...

Yes it can be done. There are other things that will need to be changed though too. Pistons is one. The bowl on a 24v piston is centered and a 12v piston bowl is off set to one side. IMO you would have a ton less money and time and headaches in your project if you just stick with a 12v

Oops - I accidentally a sentence. :lolly: Just used to negativity, I suppose.

Just so you know coming on CompD and asking questions like the OP, is like walking in to the ladies bathroom, you're better off being quiet, you might get a chance to look around before being b!tchslapped.

Soooooo........ how does a person new to diesels know what is ok and what's not ok to ask about on this site? Seems kinda pointless to have a forum where the only members here circlejerk about how good the place is and run off the people wanting advice. Just my 2 cents, though. :hehe:

If you would like a vacation from this site, please let me or one of the other moderators know

I was just wondering if it was worth doing and if it was possible. I am new to diesels but im trying to learn all I can thats why I asked the question. It may have been a stupid question for most of you but i seriously did not know and was just curious. Next time a have a question I will search a little harder. Thanks for all your inputs. It sounds like I should just stick with the 12 valve or buy a 24 valve and p pump it.

Ding ding^ p pump 24v will be your best bet. Your catching on quick

A kid did exactly what your asking a while back if I'm remembering the right person. Put different pistons in it and then won the Hamilton 12 valve head. LOL

Kalders comparison of compd to a ladies restroom is hilarious! Hahaha
