Data logging
Im looking for opinions on which way to go here. I want to monitor and record boost/drive/ and IAT for now.
I'm interested in the edge insight with the complete EAS starter pack. 1 egt probe, 1 pressure 0-100, and 1 temp sensor -40-300F
That will run about $650.
Should I bite the bullet and go racepak?? Just wondering if anyone has used the edge stuff what are your thoughts?

Look into pcs they make a nice inexpensive dash logger

Fleece's setup looks pretty nice, and you have a lot of room to grow with it.

When you figure how to adapt to make the edge monitor display that would be awesome, touch screen is a major selling point, although the RPM, pcs, and racepak are probably more accurate but it's hard to beat the low price of the edge.

I have an older cts. maybe 2-3 years old. I hate it. others have had good luck but i have been through at least 5 egt probes. My newest one lasted 3 weeks before it went haywire. literally the engine has 500 miles and the probe is toast. I even lost a probe in the air intake horn. apparantly the 100 degree intake air temps were to hot. the sampling rate is way slow. it is fine for averages but is in no way comparable to the rpm datalogger on the race truck. I wouldn't recommend it if you need good data. if you want to see overall averages that is fine but if you want to see exact accurate data you may consider something else. or maybe the newer ones have made improvements.

I datalog my 2.5 with a CTS. Boost, IAT, Engine temp, 2 EGT ports, Drive pressure. my only complaint is i haven't found a affordable method of converting RPMs to a 5v signal so i can log that, otherwise a very affordable and simple way to do it

Thanks exactly what I was thinking, I would rather spend the extra money for a better quality sampling rate to get the most accurate numbers per rpm.
Thanks Todd

How many pressure and temps can you log? Without much research it seemed like it was only capable of one pressure, one egt, and one temp.

I like the package, sounds top notch as everything from fleece is. Price seems a little steep without a display monitor. I literally just started researching data logging units so I'm very green as what's the norm for high quality stuff, the options, and the type of software needed to read it all on the computer.

If you have a laptop, you could use it as a monitor.

I had the RPM performance logger on my CR, and the owner of the company would answer my calls on the weekends, which I thought was bad azz.

You bet. I do know others have had success with them so maybe I just got a lemon. And 5 egt lemons. Any way I have the dl10 on my race truck and it is great. I just called them up and told them what I want and they made me a custom system.

That's to bad the edge isn't higher quality, you get what you pay for I guess. That's what It looks like I'll be doing. Thanks again and thanks to everyone that had input.

RacePak hands down. Had a V300 on our Pro Stock bike. Enough stuff there to make your head spin.
RPM 2nd.

I really don't think you'll be happy with the edge for long--if at all. It's a nice monitor, but seems pretty low grade and limited as a logger.
