Does anyone sell a complete kit or is it not worth it? I will drive my truck 10 miles a day and shooting for 900hp so is the p-pump driveable at that hp? I was just think a programmer and dual cp3's and so on I could just go with a p-pump right?

I know that someone makes one for a common rail and IIRC it runs about 4000, so I would inmagine that you could just use that kit. I know that you have get a gear cut for the pump.

Woodruff Diesel, Inc.

Only two shops that I can think of that have everything that you need. Other guys have modifed the covers and had gears made. They also have CNC's and Mill's that I don't have LOL. Some other shops might be offering parts for it but I don't know.

P Pump will be the most reliable HP. Not have to worry about melt down's due to a combination of Electronics and Injectors.

You can still melt it down though.

Talk to Ted or Josh and they will help you out.

The rods are considered to be a weak link. Especially with the poor programers available. They try to hard to make power down low and they break. Make sure to answer the "Can I afford to pay for a complete motor build when it breaks" question honestly before starting.

Ok that's some good Info. Where do they sell upgraded rods and pistons for the 6.7?

If you ppumped the 24v cr what pistons would be recomended, could i use my current pistons?

You can use your CR piston, but IIRC the bowl is not optimal for the VP style injectors you'll have to use.

After I melted my p-pumed 24v I was able to get some CR piston for real cheap, but was also advised to go with VP pistons due to the bowl design.

the spray angles of the cr injector and the vp injectors are different there for the interchanging of the two doesn't work well.

Does the 12v gearbox fit onto the 6.7L engine? I haven't tried it yet, I would believe that it should work. What you guys using for the cross tubes/connector tubes? Injector lines? Any buddy try a camshaft swap? I'm build a 6.7L engine for a fun street truck.

No it does not. They make special tubes for this. Conversion lines work. I was told the cam is a standard swap.

Do you have to machine the existing 6.7L gearbox to get the P7100 pump to fit or is it a custom gearbox? Thanks RonA. This might be a game changer for me, I really don't want to build this motor as a CR engine

The existing 6.7 gear box won't accept the Ppump.

There are a few places that make new covers for the CR ppump builds.

You can cut and splice on the 12v gearbox, or buy a new cover and housing. I am going with the latter because I want to mount the gear driven fuel pump.Fasses suck, but only briefly.
Have you heard anything new on 6.7 longevity? There was a couple of posts about them not holding up. I think that's probably due to the common rail system trying to make 2k ft/lbs at 1500rpm(a problem that wont happen when properly fueled). I still haven't decided whether to use the 6.7 crank, or the 5.9. I went ahead and bought aftermarket rods so the broken rod issue is off the table.

I've heard that there are some strength issues with the motor if your trying to make decent power with it. The guys trying to make more tha 1000+rwhp.

I was just want a 500-600rwhp nice friendly street engine for an older chevy or dodge 1/2ton long box truck. I know thats boring, but I want a cheap skate daily driver.

I really don't want another CR truck. Cost to much $$$ to make power with them and they nuke to often for me.

How much difference is the 6.7L gearbox vs the 12v gearbox. I have the piece to take a look see at. Might have to just get a 6.7L gearbox made with the P7100 flange on it.

I agree on the Fass part, I want a waterman pump for any of my hi HP stuff.

If you want a cheap skate driver stay with the 5.9.

Ya probably will, but it would be neat to have a modern driveline in an older truck. I have a thing for 65 C-10 Chevy trucks or early 70's power wagons.

Now, I just have to wait for someone to give me a truck..:nail:
