Just one...I don't know about fitting 2 on there with the cowl in the way! I might look into that though!

I would buy one-------:rockwoot:

thats a stock cummins part

You hafta change the valve cover bolts. The new ones are about 0.2" shorter. The hose runs down to beside the oil filter.

That's what I thought! The newer seal is much better than the old o-ring!

Chris

could i just drill my covers and put small breathers right in the hole and achieve the same thing?

The gasser valve covers leak oil down on the engine. Trust me. I bought 3 cummins valve covers that had the oil fill in them and put in k&n breathers and it dribbled all over everything.

What do the new bolts look like? I didnt order new bolts with mine and when I figured out I needed them, I measured, and had my local machine shop cut them down.

You mean covers like these????????........Andy

Andy, how much blowby do you have?? My truck ate enough soybean dust when it had a bad filter one fall that it has no rings, and I only need 1.

Wayne..
Were you ears burning yesterday as we was chatting about you while I was at EEP for some work.I was informed that I need to see you,Ronnie Sox Jr,about some 5speed diesel shifting,LOL.I was telling them I was getting old and my knees were killing me and wanted a slushbox truck and they told me I justed needed a lesson from you driving,LOL.

Anyway, back on point,I probably didn't need two but I bought three for mine way back in February to attempt to put on my truck. You can not get one on the back two cylinder as you can not get it under the cowl unless you have a body lift, which I do not.I had all three painted and cleared to match my truck so now I have a very nice looking extra one.You are very correct that they do work and stop the pressure problems on our motors.

I did no bolt cutting to use mine as there is a grommet that is needed that slide over the bolt and allows you to use it without doing any machine work.I will have to search out my reciepts for the part number for that grommet number.

The covers I got came from the local New Holland tractor dealership and they got all I needed.this helps some.....Andy

Waynes World...
Yes,I have my extra and its painted red sitting here on the shelf above my computer.

I am now gathering the parts and will have about ten sets(two covers=1 set) to offer out.Cummins has some of the little stuff back ordered and I was told today I would probably have them in the next week or so.I know if I had more at my Spring Fling show I could have sent a ton of home as many wanted them.....Andy

Andy,

Do these work with studs?
I added 1/2 of alum to my covers for clearance.

Thank You,
WAYNES WORLD

It depends on which set of head studs you have. The studs on my truck are the ones which you machine down the rocker stands and no valve cover clearance is needed as the factory ones fit fine.So on my truck they just dropped right on and tightened up.They do have a bit more clearance than a normal cover but unless I tried them on a truck that had the old style studs I am not sure.

Not a problem though, the Dremel and 15 minutes of work they should not be a big issue.

Signal73..
I will drop a note after the Chrysler show is done and get with you...Andy
