Making CR lines? What would it take?

What are the fittings and what type of machine would it take to make the lines/ fitting assemblies in hard line. I like the look of the new motorsport diesel lines.

seems like you could make some trick stuff that cleaned up the engine bay. Especially in dual cp3 setups, side intake setups, custom injector lines, dual feed line setups or any combination of the above.

I've asked around a little and no one seems to be accomidating. What would it take to make your own and where would you get the bender/ whatever kind of goofy special flare tool that is/ and materials/ fittings to do this?

Subscribing here. I am very interested in doing this myself. Another thing I was thinking about is where to find the braided stainless line like some dual feed lines are made of?

But how much cooler would it be if you could do it out of hardline? Maybe even a T at one of the outlets and run the second to the one and run a larger line to the rail? Or even hardlines to the T&C adapter? Or make your own custom injector lines and locate the rail whereever you want it to be. The possibilities with hard line are endless, and it would look so much cleaner and be so much more reliable without the floppy braided lines laying around. Just my opinion of course.

Would like to find out as well! I might need at least one here before too long....

Well, if I get the tooling to do this stuff, I would be more than happy to help anyone out. Just need to figure out what it is and where to get it.

Have you tried calling a machine shop, like a race shop or something along those lines?

Yea I agree on the reliability of the hard line, and if I can find the resources to do hard line that will be the route I choose, but if I cant find hard line to do it with, I would be satisfied using a dual feed line type. Ive never really liked how some dual feed kits use a smaller than stock feed line, then tee it in to the same size line. Im sure it doesn't make much of a difference, especially with such high pressure, but from a flow stand-point I would want 2x the cross sectional area in the single line. I'm really wanting to feed the rail in two places with two larger than stock hard lines, and leave the relief valve in place, possibly add a second one.

Little bit. with no luck. That's why I was hoping someone on here might now and be like, "yea, stupid. Everyone knows you need a blah blah blah and you get it from Goober over at Uncle Bob's backhoe service and custom Dodge common rail line service".

This is Comp D you know!

I hear you bud! :hehe:

This has come up several times...seems like the line and fittings used are fairly specialized and quite hard to get ahold of. Ty found a place overseas that makes them however you want...for about a grand a set.

They are a metric swaged end and very pricey for the tooling. Not to mention the hardened tube nuts seem to be as elusive to purchase as the swaging tools are expensive. There are companies in the US that can and do make custom lines. A certain dual pump kit manufacturer has gotten me lines in a specific length before.

That same MFG I'm guessing is doing me a straight shot line from pump to rail for my upcoming side draft manifold.

Please post said manufacturer. Thanks!

We had Exergy make some hard lines for us on a Duramax build.Used some brake lines as a template. It took a little while to do since the material came from Japan.

I know this is CR but I tried like hell to find fittings lines for my 24v. With no luck all of them come from 1 or 2 places in the states. I think the tubing would also be hard to find since its tubing inside tubing.

I gave up and re bent my stockers. I know you all cannot do that though.

I used a coat hanger, but copper tubing works better.

i think colombus diesel has lines for the duramax, they are just straight pieces, u'd have to bend them yourself.
