Dyno FAIL!

Were their any straps on the front? Doesn't look like it and look at how far away the back straps were from the car!!! FAIL

my brothers colt slid sideways off the dyno on a 400 hp pull... the exhaust was dumped under the car and burned through the strap... it slid left as the operator put in the clutch and it stopped right between the rollers... still 4 feet off the ground.. talk about pucker!!
but these idiots deserved it... way too much length and lack of control on the whole thing..

Looks like a nice shop to stay clear of. I didn't see any front straps in that shot and both rear straps went to the same center point. Just because you can finance the dyno and rent a garage doesn't make you a performance shop. Feel bad for the owner of that car... how do you explain that to the insurance company?

it'll buff out.... ya think he had as much torque as our starters do?
your starter make 400ft lbs? I had a 03 evo that was making 550whp and 450whtq and even with 4 good straps it would lift a little on the dyno. Its not uncommon for a stock motor/turbo evo on E85 to make 400whtq , and mid 300's on pump gas
I dont think Ive ever seen a vehicle dynoed with just 2 straps. That was destined for fail

lmfao goto sheid extravaganza, they only use 1 strap off the rear, talk about safe:hehe:

and the backstory to this video i believe one of the front straps got burnt by o2 dump causing it to go sideways

when i went there last year with bullydog, we put the race truck on and the first pass came very very close to coming off. 1 strap is just not safe for any dyno event IMO

I think if I pulled my truck up on a dyno and someone said "fire it up" with less than four straps on it...I'd tell them to take a flyin' leap.

Failure is not only the operators fault....it is the lack of the vehicle owners awareness and "common sense" for lack of a better term. $.02

before we even started we asked over and over if that was going to be fine and they assured us yes , so he did a test pull 1/2 throttle or so to see how it would react and the second he let off the gas the truck came back on top of the rollers and actually almost went off backwards. We shut it down right there and said that was not going to fly

up in calgary a few weekends ago at DPS dyno even they only use 2 rear straps but the way they have it setup it holds very well and only a few trucks actually needed 4 straps

You four point a truck when you load it on a trailer just to ride along. Why in the heck would you not at least do the same when your on a dyno making pulls? Heck high HP trucks run four in the rear alone!! Their is no reason for any vehicle to come off of a dyno other than stupidity and lack of attention!!!!! IMO...
