CNG system on Diesel Power Challenge truck 38mpg!

CNG

It really does work. For the folks out west its a really good deal because cng is cheap and everywhere. I just wish I would have gotten my normal 55 mpg at the challenge to really give them something to talk about. Jeff

how big of a tank do you need? yours is about the size of a 100 gal fuel tank. i want something a little smaller. how often do you fill up? i drive from 200 - 500 miles a day usually

CNG Kits

Hey guys I see that you are all curious about the CNG kits. Well we have installed quite a few of these kits from Marc and they are miracle workers. We have seen pretty much double the mileage if not more. The duramax is by far the best truck to run these on! Anywhere from 35-42 around town and even better on the freeway. Plus lower egts and a cleaner exhaust. They also work great on both the dodge and ford but not with the same mileage. Every truck is different, no idea why, maybe how the driver drives? It takes a little more work on the newer trucks because of the new emission crap they are throwing on them. If you guys have any questions feel free to get ahold of us. We have posted some results on our blog page on our site.

When you say 35-42 MPG, is that the total amount of fuel you have burned or just the Diesel?

Umm, how about a link?

Our website is dieselworkz.com. The results are posted on our blog. The mileage I was refering to is running both diesel and CNG together.

So if you are getting 50 miles to the gallon...that means??? I'll guess that means 1/2 gallon of gas and 1/2 gallon of Diesel will take you 50 miles?

I think its a GREAT way to do things and I applaud your work. I'm just a little lost about the volume part?

i think the only reason they are seeing better results on chevys is because there 6speeds

so are the new dodge 6.7's, but they claim they are only getting 30mpg!!! boo hoo, i would love to get that kind of mileage.

so i don't think its the tranny.

The system is $1295. That does not include the tank. Some find them cheap on ebay or a salvage yard. Its very easy to install. mount the tank run a hose, bolt down the system and a few wires. There is a internet link to gives you location and price all over the US. Thanks Jeff

where can you get the kit for 1295? i can't anyone that cheap.

Glad I moved to Utah. May have to look into one of the kits. Also, I'm curious about the volume. If I'm not mistaken, I thought he said 3 parts CNG to 1 part diesel. Or maybe I have that backwards.

amazing the mileage claimed!

any diagrams on how this works... don't have $1,300.. can I construct a system?

CNG

Normal useage would be more around 1 to 1. 3 to 1 was for the event to max it out. If its cheap in your area you certainly could run at the higher rate and save more money. Jeff
