North Texas Dyno Day Bully Dog/ODRA Sat. June 13th

Everyone I know with a built auto has had to wait 500-1000 miles to break them in before beating on them.

Except me, I give it no mercy! Sorry but no go for me on the event, after 70K on the tranny I finally broke something......input shaft!

Jim

Im already in town so I will be there in the morning. If anybody is going that doesnt know anybody hit me up. I love to talk shop, even if I aint running on the dyno..

I'm surprised. Northum gave me and rowland specific instructions to take it easy for the first 1000 miles. Relentless also told two of my buddy's the same thing.

they prolly didnt use a tranny dyno to check things alot of the big tranny builders (suncoast, ats, art carr, georend brothers, etc) all use tranny dynos to test them out so thats why when i ever i broke mine i sent it back to suncoast and sent it back and said give her hell

I am actually debating on testing out a new transbrake that Art Carr has developed for the tranny and see how it does at the track.

Have they tried making these before or are you gonna be the first ever tranny to get it? Alot of tranny companys are afraid to touch them for some reason..I wanted one on my white truck but nobody was really making them

I could see that if you bought a complete tranny already built from the manufacturer but when they are rebuilt like mine or rowland's or chris's or I think jim's as well then I could see needing a break in period. Most shops don't carry transmission dyno's.

ya some of them dont really need one if you build it the same way every time or what not.

Buck's latest carnage on the dyno...

There is no break in period for a transmission. I worked at a tranny shop for 3 years. The only thing that should be done when you install a transmission (even if it was run on a tranny dyno) is take it out for a test drive with a pressure gauge, make sure it shifts through all of the gears, check that the tq converter locks up, and make sure the pressures are good. If all those things check out good, recheck the fluid level and let her rip.... there is nothing in a transmission that needs to break in, like in a fresh motor(rings, cam shaft)

They did use a tranny dyno, that is how they discovered a problem in my valvebody. They are the original builders of the tranny and I just sent it back for the warranty work.

Art Carr warranted my billet intermediate and output shaft. I was shocked, they are good people and stand behind teir words

Was not as big as last year but still a good turn out with some nice trucks. Good times with good people. I had no plans on making a pull but was offered a free pull after repairing the dyno. I was quite happy to not be the lowest number posted considering its a stock injectored 7.3!

No i was saying to bigblue that the trannys that they have prolly dont need to get on the tranny dynos...but trannys like what u have and and what i had in my old truck do put them on dynos to check things. i was agreeing with u not arguing
