I am working on my project & want to use the 4x4 auto trans from the 1997 in front of the 1991 205 transfer case. Will this work? Are the splines the same? Is'nt the 1997 trans the better one to use? Thanks. I posted this in the 1st gen section also

Will the transmission from a 1997 4wd fit in a 1991 4wd? Mainly will the 205 transfer case fit to 1997 transmission? Thanks!
