02 SD W/07 5.9l CUMMINS WIRING QUESTION

Hi all,
I am at the wiring stage of my project, it is basically what is stopping me from finishing this year long voyage of not having my favorite vehicle. Anyway, my questions all involve mating the Ford and Cummins harnesses. Is it necessary to use the TIPM off of a dodge pickup in order to have a diagnostic port? If so, how is that accomplished. I have been told that it is necessary to integrate fuses and relays. Is that necessary? It seems to me that it is possible to use the fuses and relays that are under the dash. Any insight would be awesome.

you should be able to. I am well on my way to swapping an 06 5.9 into my wifes 99 excursion. I have a few things left to wire. I kept the dodge trans so things might be a little different for you. I'm expecting to add 3 maybe 4 relays to get the trans, a/c and other misc. stuff working. If i'm correct the most that would be needed to get the obd port working is the right resistor across the data lines.
