04 vs 05 short block

Is there a difference in the 2004 and 2005 6.0 short blocks?

Reason I'm asking is a friend has an 04 he is stuck with and wants to keep the international in the truck and the motor in it now needs heads and a set of injectors.

Can I put my 05 heads,intake etc on his 04 short block?

There is a year split on the 04's that may or may not work. The hpop and lines etc are different. And the injector feed rail is different also.

How would I know which one I've got?

I believe the later motors have the ICP sensor on the RH valve cover and the early motors have the ICP on the back side of the head. But do some checking on that.

the heads should be same unless some body has put 20mm on it.
