1942 h hard start

hard start 42 h. If we pull start it, it will run. It wont stay running. It ran fine all day until it ran out of fuel.Filled it up, was a booger to start but it ran again.Then it sat 3 hrs. I drove it 60 feet it sounded out of time then quit.

Is there in water or dirt in the sight glass

No, I am thinking the carb is misadjusted or timing is off. I didnt hear it run when they ran it out of fuel.

Take the carb apart and clean the ports out they are bad about getting rust in them. The small ports are the main problem
