271 T-case swap?

What exactly is needed for the 271 transfercase swap....can it just be a tcase from the newer dodge trucks with the manual shift? would it bolt right in place of my 241dhd?

Yes but I think the 271 case is longer so you might have to change drive shafts for length and your output shaft on the 271 is larger so you will need a different yoke for the rear drive shaft.

what about u joints?? are they 1410 the same as what is already on my truck or are they bigger?

also are the ford and dodge 271's the same?? or does it have to be one from a dodge

The 271 should have a 1480 yoke for the output and 1380 I think for the front driveshaft.
