Did this on a customers truck a month or two ago and thought I'd share so anyone wanting to do it would have a better idea what it takes.

93 intercooled truck that had a big leak in the IC so we decided to replace with a 2nd gen style one.

Old IC out, support brace on drivers side removed, triangle bracket modified by hood latch. Holes cut for the larger IC.

The Trans cooler is mounted where the factory IC use to go through the core support. Not sure how great this setup is but should get similar airflow to the stock setup tucked up where they had it.

Here is the whole setup mounted up with the ac condenser still in place.

Passenger side lower mount didn't have to be moved, just modified so the IC sits closer to the core support. AC mounts easy and I just used all thread to mount the side of the IC.

Had to make a mount for the ac on the drivers side. Also had to move the lower mount for the IC over a good amount and used all thread for the side mount of the IC again.

You must cut the hood latch down to keep it from hitting the top of the iC, go slow and measure a lot on this step. This one came out to where you can just get one finger in to open the latch, but it is doable and does clear the IC fine.

The cold pipe from the turbo was easy to make.

Cold pipe on the drivers side was a little more time consuming. I cut the tube off the IC on the drivers side and had it welded back on angling up and towards the engine more. This made it much easier to get a 3" pipe in there without using an angled boot. Put a 3rd gen intake horn on it too.

The last thing was the lower valance behind the bumper. Just had to trim it in a couple spots.

I trimmed one little spot on the backside of the grill to clear everything but no pics of it. Somehow I also forgot to take a picture of it all back together, but it looked like it should have come from the factory like that!

Nice write up and pics.

When I put a '94 IC in my '89, I used the '94 factory IC plumbing. It's a tight fit and A/C does not appear to be an option, but it does the job.

too bad the 3rd gen intake horns are THE most restrictive out of all of the stockers...

It's what I had laying around and it is larger then the stock intake that was on the truck. Thanks for the constructive criticism though!
