I currently have 3.73's in my truck and running a 35" tall tires, it seems to be a little laggy when taking off unless I give her some fuel. So I was thinking about going to some 4.30's and trying to get it more like stock gearing. Has anyone done this? and how do you like it?

Also would the 35" tall tire get better traction with a 4.30 gear, or would a 3.73 with a 33" work better if I were to race it?

thanks in advance.

4.30 and 35" tire will be a little more rpm than a stock tire. I have 4.30 and
37" and rpm/mph wise it is very close to the 3.73 and stock tire on my Excursion.
Stock tires and 3.73 = 2100 rpm @70
285 and 3.73 = 1900 rpm @ 70
35" and 4.30 = 2200 rpm @ 70
37" and 4.30 = 2000 rpm @ 70

I like to do a lot of freeway driving at 70+. 4.10's were too low for my liking. But probably fine for most. 4.30 is pushing it. I'd stick with 33's and 3.73's if you want to run down the track.
