6.2 diesel, how can i get more MPG

i have an 83 GMC vandura diesel and has a detroit diesel engine, it already gives me about 20 highway but i was wondering what else can i do to get more mileage out of this? anyone have suggestions

Do you run a fuel additive ? If not I would suggest Stanadyne or Schaeffers performace formula. That's about all I know on the older ones, just stay on top of maintanence and you should do well.

Most diesel parts vendors sell one brand or another. I used to get my Stanadyne from Midwest fuel injection. (thedieselstore.com) A good additive will improve the quality of the fuel, disperse any water and in some cases improve mileage.

Nothing. Recreational fuel additives are a complete waste of money.
